Jay Hollingsworth affectionately known as "Big Irish Jay" is a baby faced giant who started his comedy career in Boston, MA. and recently moved to Seattle, WA where he has quickly become a well known face in the Northwest comedy scene.

Before doing stand-up, Jay had many life experiences which has helped to form his view of the world.  When Jay was 21 he supported himself for a year by playing poker until her realized he could not support himself by playing poker.

Big Irish Jay also trained and taught mixed martial arts (www.moderngungfu.com) and was the first person to ever receive a black belt and the first person ever certified to teach Modern Gung Fu.   Jay had his own school and taught Modern Gung Fu for 10 years until he realized it was much more rewarding to give punch lines then to receive punches.

At a height of 6'8", Big Irish Jay stands out in the comedy world just by standing up, but also by speaking on a range of topics from getting older to online dating to martial arts to being a self proclaimed “6’8” mutant”.

Jay hosts and produces the Belltown Comedy Showcase held monthly at the Spitfire in Seattle, WA to help promote up and coming comedians along with national headliners.

He has performed from coast to coast at some of the most prestigious clubs in America such as The Improv, the Comedy Underground, Laughs and many other clubs across the U.S.
